Hello there and my apologies for the disappearance. I am beyond stressed with school at this moment since my last day if school is May 5th and I am loaded with so much work. At times I only get two hours of sleep because I have to stay up all night doing research papers. Anyway enough with the boring stuff. I am 10 weeks now!!! Almost done with my first trimester and I am so excited. My little peanut now looks more human, not like a little caterpillar anymore, and s(he) is growing nails and little hairs on his body. OMG. I know this is so corny but it is just so exciting. I will be sharing the update on my little one as well as an update on me. At the end of the post I'll also show you a few of the things I purchased at Babies "R" Us yesterday. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing it.
The Baby: Your new resident is nearly an inch long — about the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. She has tiny earlobes, and her mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby's basic physiology is in place, she's poised for rapid weight gain.
Expectations- my body: You still may not look pregnant even if your waist is thickening a bit. You probably feel pregnant, though. Not only are morning sickness and other physical symptoms out in full force for most women, but you may feel like an emotional pinball as well. Mood swings are common now — it's perfectly normal to feel alternately elated and terrified about becoming a parent. Try to cut yourself some slack. Most women find that moodiness flares up at around six to ten weeks, eases up in the second trimester, and then reappears as pregnancy winds to a close.
Reality-my body/symptoms: I no longer feel sick everyday like I use to but here and there I still do. I'm not actually experiencing mood swings but I find myself crying every time I watch something that has to do with a woman giving birth. Has this ever happened to you? I guess I just can't wait until I meet my little one. I haven't gained any weight but that's normal since I'm only 10 weeks right now. I still have a hard time eating if I'm not truly craving for it which drives my husband insane to the point where he gets mad at me. (WAHHH!). I wish he understood that I'm truly trying but I just can't swallow the food if I don't desire it. I usually am craving something but sometimes he doesn't want to or can't get it for me so I'm stuck trying to stuff food down my throat.
Measurements:
Around Cervix: 33.5 inches
From waist to cervix: 9 inches
Now on to a more fun part. I went to Babies "R" Us with my parents and my younger sister and I bought a few things that I'm very excited to share with you.
I'm already starting to read to my little one once in a while and I love Disney stories so I bought this book with SOO many short bed time stories. It was also cheap for only 15.99.
God knows that my husband and I already have many things of our own so getting the baby as much storage as possible is a must. This bring 6 different things and it was 54.99.
Although I do not experience morning sickness like I used to I decided to buy these just in case. Boy was I glad I did because I felt really sick at work today and I had one of these and let me tell you, they DO work.
It is never to late to start stocking up on the things you are going to need the most.
I also bought a 6 pack of organic nursing pads because from what everyone tells me I might want to buy a few more packs of these bad boys.
Although I'm already using an oil to prevent stretchmarks I wanted to try Burt's Bees Mame Bee because I'm in love with all of the products I've bought from them and I wanted to see if this could be the next thing I use.
I also bought these to store breast milk and they come in a little tray where you can just stock them on there.
Are there any things you think I should start investing on? If so let me know I want to make sure I have everything I need.
